Company Overview

Starcom is a global media and communications planning agency with more than 80 years of history. Built on the belief that people should remain at the heart of every decision, the company uses data and technology to help brands and businesses grow. It operates with over 7,000 employees across more than 100 offices worldwide and works with major global clients such as Bank of America, Best Buy, Kellogg Company, McDonald's, Novartis, Samsung, Visa, and others.

Role Summary

The organization is looking for an organized and client-oriented Media Manager to act as the key point of contact between the agency and its clients. The role focuses on ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to a consistently high standard. Success in this position requires strong communication, project management capability, commercial thinking, and the ability to understand client objectives and turn them into effective media solutions.

Key Responsibilities

The Media Manager will own the development and execution of media plans across multiple sectors, balancing client objectives with agency KPIs and coordinating with internal teams to deliver integrated media strategies. The role also involves managing client communication, strengthening client and partner relationships, mentoring junior planners, maintaining quality standards across all media outputs, and overseeing day-to-day team work.

In addition, the position requires the ability to understand client needs, ask the right questions, and build suitable media recommendations across digital and offline channels. The manager will use analytical and research skills to assess data, market insights, and industry trends, while also handling commercial considerations such as ROI, efficiency, and budget allocation. The role includes ownership of media strategy, consumer insights analysis, competitive landscape review, channel selection, timing, budget planning, and documentation quality control.

The position also requires regular client presentations, strong relationships with media owners and vendors, oversight of outputs created by executives and planners, and responsibility for accurate day-to-day administrative work. The manager must be able to work under pressure, manage multiple stakeholders, and improve processes through strategic, creative, and analytical thinking.

Professional Expectations

The role calls for strong leadership, the ability to support team development, and a collaborative approach with stakeholders. The manager should communicate clearly, contribute in discussions, resolve issues promptly, and help build a culture of trust, accountability, inclusion, and high performance.

Qualifications and Experience

A bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or a related discipline is required. The ideal candidate should have 5 to 7 years of experience in media planning or a closely related role, preferably with portfolio exposure. Prior experience mentoring and leading planning executives is important, along with strong organizational ability, multitasking skills, and the capacity to perform well under pressure. Digital certifications across major platforms such as Meta, Google, Snapchat, LinkedIn, and Twitter are also expected.

Tools, Platforms, and Technical Knowledge

The role requires comfort with MS Office 365 tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. Candidates should also be familiar with media planning and buying platforms such as Z/X Plan, ETAM, Statex, GWI, Euromonitor, WARC, and SimilarWeb, as well as digital advertising tools like DV360, Google Ads, Meta Business Manager, Snapchat Ads Manager, Twitter Ads Manager, and TikTok Ads Manager.
