Job description
Role overview
This position is being shared on behalf of a partner employer, which will handle applications and all subsequent hiring steps. The hiring company is seeking a Manager, Market Insights in the United States.
This role sits at the center of a commercial insights function that converts complex healthcare and market information into strategic guidance for rare disease brands. The manager will shape and run primary market research programs while combining them with secondary data to create a full picture of customers, competitors, and market shifts. Working closely with Marketing, Sales, and Market Access teams, this person will help define brand direction and support key business decisions. The role calls for strong analytical thinking and the ability to turn both qualitative and quantitative findings into clear, practical recommendations that influence commercial performance. It also includes oversight of outside research vendors, with responsibility for quality, timing, and budget discipline. Because of its visibility, the insights produced in this position will have a direct effect on strategy, customer engagement, and field execution.
Key accountabilities
- Plan and direct primary research projects, including message testing, customer journey studies, brand tracking, and sales force effectiveness work, using the right methods for each business question.
- Oversee research programs from start to finish, including vendor selection, delivery management, schedule tracking, budget control, and regular status updates to leadership.
- Use secondary sources such as claims data, promotional data, and internal prescription information to spot market patterns and guide business choices.
- Blend primary research output with secondary data and competitive intelligence to produce actionable insights and strategic guidance.
- Work with stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, Market Access, and Insights to set research priorities and support ad hoc analytical requests.
- Keep evaluating new research methods, tools, and approaches to improve insight generation and analytical depth.
- Help with annual planning and budget allocation for insights work, making sure resources are used effectively.
Required background
- A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, Market Research, or a related discipline; comparable experience may also be accepted.
- At least 6 years of experience in market research, commercial analytics, or competitive intelligence within biopharma or biotechnology settings.
- Deep knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research approaches and the practices that lead to useful, decision-ready insights.
- Experience using secondary healthcare datasets such as claims, promotional, and prescription data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with a talent for pulling together multiple data sources into clear business recommendations.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to present complex findings clearly to senior leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage several projects, vendors, timelines, and budgets in a fast-moving environment.
- Advanced skill in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, along with strong organization and attention to detail.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically for meetings and company events.
Compensation and benefits
- Base pay is estimated between $116,000 and $151,000, with additional short-term incentives and long-term equity opportunities.
- Comprehensive coverage for medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance for employees and eligible dependents.
- Retirement savings plan with employer matching contributions.
- Generous paid time off, holidays, and programs that support work-life balance.
- Access to wellness resources and employee assistance support.
- An opportunity to contribute in a mission-driven environment focused on rare disease innovation and patient impact.
- Exposure to high-priority strategic work with strong visibility across leadership and cross-functional teams.
