Where you'll work
Job description
About the company
You will be joining a well-established corporate group with a broad international presence and a strong focus on sustainable, long-term expansion. Its central M&A function is a key driver of inorganic growth, leading high-impact transactions and helping shape the company’s future portfolio. The team blends disciplined financial analysis with strategic flexibility and works closely with senior leadership to support expansion, market entry, and enterprise value creation.
Role overview
This position sits within the central corporate development team and covers the complete lifecycle of transactions. The role is centered on strategic acquisitions and portfolio optimization, offering substantial ownership of projects, regular interaction with senior stakeholders, and the freedom to drive work from initial opportunity screening through to completion.
What you will do
- Own M&A execution from the earliest pipeline stage through final closing, while coordinating internal specialists, cross-functional teams, and outside advisors.
- Perform in-depth financial assessment, including detailed review of profit and loss statements and balance sheets, and create advanced valuation and modelling work to support decision-making.
- Source and assess potential acquisition opportunities, maintain the transaction pipeline, and compare targets against the company’s strategic criteria.
- Lead commercial, financial, and legal due diligence activities, identifying key risks and value creation levers to support investment recommendations.
- Work with business leaders and executive management to ensure potential deals fit the wider corporate strategy and can be integrated effectively.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant brings at least 3 years of experience in Corporate M&A, Investment Banking, Transaction Services, or Private Equity. You should have a proven history of managing complex transactions from early-stage development through to completion, along with strong hands-on capability in valuation, financial modelling, and P&L / balance sheet analysis. Experience in a corporate setting is considered an advantage, as is strong project management ability. The role also calls for strong commercial judgement, the ability to turn complex financial information into clear recommendations, and the confidence to engage with senior leaders and external partners.
Working arrangement
This is a hybrid role based in Western Germany / the Rhine-Ruhr region, with office presence at the central headquarters expected for about 3 days each week.
What makes this role attractive
The position offers high visibility within a central corporate development function that is closely tied to the organisation’s strategic priorities. It gives you the autonomy to lead transactions, collaborate directly with executive leadership, and influence the company’s inorganic growth path. You will be part of a well-resourced environment with a long-term outlook and a collaborative, high-performance culture.
