Role overview
The organization is seeking a Manager, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to work closely with business leaders and help drive organizational effectiveness, talent planning, employee engagement, workforce planning, and HR transformation efforts. This position serves as a dependable advisor to leadership while ensuring HR initiatives are executed smoothly and remain aligned with business goals.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand priorities and convert them into practical HR actions.
- Advise on workforce planning, organizational structure, succession planning, and broader talent initiatives.
- Develop people strategies that support growth and operational performance.
- Act as a trusted point of contact for leadership on employee-related concerns.
- Work with Talent Acquisition to ensure hiring is completed in line with manpower plans.
- Support onboarding and help new hires integrate effectively into the organization.
- Identify key talent and help create succession pipelines for important roles.
- Enable internal movement and career growth opportunities for employees.
- Manage the performance cycle, including goal setting, mid-year discussions, annual reviews, and calibration.
- Guide managers on how to conduct effective performance conversations.
- Support performance improvement plans where needed.
- Strengthen employee relations and contribute to a positive, high-performance culture.
- Handle grievances through structured resolution approaches.
- Carry out disciplinary reviews and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Ensure company policies and employment laws are followed.
- Plan and implement employee engagement activities.
- Review employee feedback and turn insights into action plans.
- Run recognition and reward programs that improve morale.
- Enhance employee experience across the full employee lifecycle.
- Identify skill and capability gaps through regular business interaction.
- Partner with the L&D team to design development plans.
- Support leadership development programs.
- Track training impact and effectiveness for the business.
- Monitor HR metrics such as attrition, absenteeism, productivity, hiring, and engagement.
- Prepare HR dashboards and share clear insights with business leaders.
- Suggest process improvements based on data analysis.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies and statutory obligations.
- Promote policy awareness and governance across business units.
- Support audits and compliance reviews.
- Maintain accurate HR records and documentation.
- Support restructuring, transformation, and other change management efforts.
- Help execute communication and change plans.
- Assist in the smooth rollout of HR projects and initiatives.
Qualifications and experience
This role requires an MBA or PGDM in Human Resources from a reputed institute as a mandatory qualification. A bachelor's degree in any discipline is also required. The ideal candidate will have 8 to 12 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 4 years working as an HR Business Partner supporting business leaders. Experience handling senior leadership stakeholders and multiple business functions is important. Prior exposure to large organizations, or sectors such as education, retail, healthcare, hospitality, or service industries, is preferred.
Required competencies
The position calls for strong HRBP capability, including performance management, talent management, employee relations, organizational development, workforce planning, succession planning, change management, HR analytics, stakeholder management, policy implementation, conflict resolution, coaching, and mentoring. On the behavioral side, the role demands strategic thinking, business understanding, strong communication, relationship building, problem solving, decision making, influencing ability, emotional intelligence, collaboration, and a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Performance indicators
Success in this role will be measured through employee engagement scores, attrition levels, performance review completion, leadership satisfaction, grievance resolution turnaround time, talent retention, internal mobility, learning effectiveness, HR compliance score, and the number of HR process improvement initiatives delivered.
