About the Role
Spotify is seeking a strategic FP&A Manager to become the dedicated finance partner for the Distribution Partnerships team. This position is vital in shaping Spotify’s growth by supporting partnerships that drive user acquisition, deepen user engagement, and enhance retention through pioneering distribution and marketing strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of business cases for Distribution Partnerships, building investment models that integrate subscriber forecasting, partnership economics, and comprehensive P&L impact.
- Create financial evaluation structures for both prospective and existing partnerships, assessing metrics such as customer lifetime value, payback period, and ROI.
- Conduct thorough analysis of complex datasets to spot trends, opportunities, and risks, shaping partnership strategies and investment priorities.
- Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams—including Distribution Partnerships, Accounting, Legal, Business Affairs, and Strategy—to translate financial findings into actionable recommendations for leadership.
- Develop, maintain, and continually enhance portfolio reports: track KPIs, monitor performance, forecast outcomes, and analyze variances for the partnership portfolio.
- Drive annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and ongoing financial planning processes by working closely with business leaders to set data-driven goals.
- Identify and implement improvements to finance processes, reporting, and tools to optimize partnership management.
Candidate Profile
- At least 5 years of experience in FP&A, Strategy & Analytics, Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, or an equivalent analytical capacity—ideally including exposure to consumer subscription businesses.
- Proven record in developing complex financial models and conducting scenario analysis, especially in dynamic, information-evolving settings.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret commercial agreements and translate them into financial outcomes, working seamlessly with Legal, deal teams, and Business Affairs.
- Strong competence in handling extensive datasets; experience with SQL is highly regarded, and an interest in applying AI tools for financial analysis is welcomed.
- Balances sharp attention to detail with sound judgment, understanding when deepening analysis will add value and when to drive decisions forward.
- Excels at juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced context, delivering high-quality output consistently.
- Intellectually curious, with a knack for investigating beyond the surface to discover value-adding business insights.
- Communicates sophisticated financial concepts simply and effectively, adapting messaging for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Work Environment
- Role based in London or Stockholm, with a hybrid schedule—team members are encouraged to attend the office 2–3 times per week.
