Job Summary
The Manager of Financial and Operational Audit will lead and manage comprehensive audits covering financial processes, operational activities, and compliance matters in Ooredoo’s business segments. This role ensures audits comply with international internal audit standards and internal policies while emphasizing risk identification, control assessment, and actionable recommendations. The manager supervises audit teams, collaborates closely with senior management, and drives improvements in internal controls, process efficiencies, accountability, and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and update the annual internal audit plan using a risk-focused approach aligned with strategic priorities.
- Identify key financial and operational risks and ensure thorough audit coverage across units.
- Conduct risk assessments and engage stakeholders to define audit scopes and priorities.
- Manage complete audit lifecycle: planning, fieldwork, reporting, follow-up aligned with IIA standards and internal methodologies.
- Lead audits in finance, procurement, revenue assurance, asset management, HR, and commercial functions.
- Review audit documentation for quality, clarity, and thoroughness.
- Analyze processes and controls to detect gaps, inefficiencies, and compliance issues.
- Produce clear, high-quality audit reports with findings, root causes, risk implications, and practical recommendations.
- Communicate audit results with senior leaders and coordinate action plan implementation and monitoring.
- Advise management on control enhancements and risk mitigation strategies.
- Support development of internal control frameworks and assist business units in preparations for external audits.
- Lead and mentor audit staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture, providing coaching and technical guidance.
- Drive continuous improvement of audit methodologies, tools, and processes while maintaining quality assurance.
- Keep updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes relevant to auditing and risk management.
- Participate in cross-functional efforts as an internal control advisor as needed.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as CIA, CPA, ACCA, or CISA are mandatory.
- At least 8-10 years of progressive internal audit experience, including minimum 3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Strong understanding of internal control frameworks like COSO, IIA audit standards, and risk management techniques.
- Experience in telecom, technology, or extensive corporate environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP and data analytics tools is advantageous.
