Role Overview
This role is pivotal in elevating drivers' well-being, satisfaction, engagement, and operational performance by employing evidence-based psychological approaches and strategic training efforts. It includes researching driver behaviors, creating and facilitating well-being and skill development programs, counseling drivers, analyzing workforce trends to boost retention, and collaborating with stakeholders to develop initiatives that support a healthy, productive, and positive work environment aligned with company goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research employing surveys, interviews, observations, and experiments to understand drivers' attitudes and motivations, applying insights to refine workplace policies and practices.
- Create and deliver wellness training programs focusing on fatigue, stress management, healthy lifestyle habits, sleep quality, and similar areas.
- Support drivers in maintaining physical and mental health to minimize accident risks and enhance job effectiveness.
- Design and analyze exit interviews to identify turnover causes and recommend strategies to improve retention and satisfaction.
- Work with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and refine initiatives that improve driver satisfaction, productivity, and loyalty.
- Advise managers and leaders on driver behavior and performance-related matters.
- Provide counseling support to drivers when necessary.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to ensure program relevance and innovation.
- Create and oversee structured onboarding and ongoing training programs that improve driver skills, safety awareness, customer service, and smooth integration.
- Conduct performance assessments and develop management frameworks including KPIs and improvement plans to identify skill gaps and foster continuous development.
- Lead incentive and recognition programs to motivate and enhance driver performance.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and refresher courses to keep drivers informed about latest industry standards and technologies.
- Ensure training resources, environments, and methods are modern and aligned with industry norms.
- Drive adoption of advanced training technology such as Learning Management Systems, Virtual Reality modules, AI-powered analytics, gamification, and simulation platforms to amplify training effectiveness and future-proof skills.
Additional Duties
The role may include other responsibilities and projects as assigned by management.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required in Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
- Master's degree in Psychology or Counseling is preferred.
Experience Required
- At least 8 years of professional experience applying psychological principles in workplace or organizational contexts, ideally within transportation, occupational health, or employee wellness sectors.
- Background in research, training and wellness program design, counseling, driver behavior analytics, stress management, and retention strategies is advantageous.
Preferred Certifications
- Professional certification or licensure in Counseling, Clinical, or Occupational Psychology.
- Additional certifications in Stress Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or Employee Wellness Programs are beneficial.
