Role overview

This position is accountable for commercial execution end to end, moving products smoothly from regulatory filing to launch, handling institutional sales, and managing development programs for public health access products across priority markets. The role requires close coordination across sales, supply chain, regulatory, manufacturing, finance, and external stakeholders to support timely launches, effective tender execution, and sustainable revenue delivery.

Sales planning and commercial execution

  • Own sales planning and execution for the assigned markets, including order handling, production alignment, fulfilment, and receivables tracking.
  • Serve as the main commercial point of contact for partners, distributors, tendering authorities, and major customers.
  • Work with planning, manufacturing, supply chain, and finance teams to match demand forecasts with production and ensure deliveries happen on schedule.
  • Track order progress, shipment milestones, and collections while removing execution blockers quickly.
  • Ensure business activity remains aligned with contractual obligations, pricing terms, and local market policies.

Regulatory filing to launch coordination

  • Manage the shift from regulatory submission to market launch, including submission follow-up, responses to deficiencies, approval tracking, and readiness planning.
  • Partner closely with API Plus regulatory teams, internal regulatory affairs, and quality functions to support timely approvals.
  • Work with launch planning, marketing, and supply teams to enable a smooth transition into commercialization after approval.
  • Monitor launch dates, dependencies, and risks so that regulatory progress stays aligned with commercial supply readiness.

Institutional sales and tender management

  • Identify and develop institutional business opportunities such as Ministry of Health tenders, national and central procurement tenders, global public access tenders, and large private hospital or institution bids.
  • Lead the full tender cycle, including opportunity tracking, supply diligence, pricing submissions, and preparation of complete documentation.
  • Obtain internal approvals and ensure the business is ready to deliver according to tender timelines.
  • Manage execution and receivables for institutional contracts while staying within agreed terms.

Public health access product program management

  • Program-manage public health access product development from late-stage development through launch.
  • Track milestones, identify risks early, and remove delays in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
  • Support strong coordination among IPDO, GMO, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams.
  • Ensure launch preparedness, supply continuity, and timely delivery in line with public health commitments.

Key stakeholders

Internal stakeholders include Planning, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Marketing, Finance, IPDO, and GMO. External stakeholders include distributors, partners, ministries of health, procurement bodies, and institutional customers.

Qualifications and experience

A graduate or postgraduate degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Management, or Engineering is required, with an MBA preferred. The role calls for 8 to 12 years of experience in commercial operations, tender management, regulatory-to-launch execution, or program management within pharmaceuticals or public health businesses. Strong exposure to emerging markets, especially Sub-Saharan Africa and/or the Middle East, is preferred.

Behavioural competencies

The role requires the ability to work well across diverse teams, strong interpersonal communication, empathy, and a collaborative approach that supports a positive team culture. Strong execution capability is also essential.
