Job description
Position Overview
The Manager will oversee and direct the Child Safety Service Centre, ensuring delivery of exceptional, integrated child protection services to clients and communities within the service area. This role emphasizes the enforcement of thorough casework and case management procedures, the establishment of lasting partnerships with carers, community members, public and non-government organizations, as well as robust staff management and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support staff to ensure children's safety, belonging, and wellbeing are prioritized, involving children and families as active partners in child protection.
- Manage the Service Centre's operations including corporate governance, financial oversight, and human resource management, fostering continuous improvement and quality services.
- Participate as an integral member of the regional child safety management team to enhance service effectiveness across the district and region.
- Assign and prioritize workloads following departmental guidelines and legal, financial, and administrative delegations.
- Provide leadership aligned with the Framework for Practice to deliver high-standard child protection services tailored to client needs.
- Guide child and family reforms by collaborating with community services and coordinating community responses.
- Engage and lead local government and non-government forums, promoting collaborative partnerships and positive public representation.
- Establish enduring partnerships to support cross-sector collaboration and enhance training and service coordination.
- Promote a culture centered on appreciative inquiry and frontline service values focused on outcomes for children and families' safety and wellbeing.
- Offer proactive, high-level advice to regional management on service outcomes, development strategies, staff training, and performance management.
- Engage regularly with the local community to obtain feedback and ensure services reflect community needs and the practice framework principles.
- Lead development and evaluation of systems for implementing the new child protection practice framework, ensuring consistent service standards regionally.
Mandatory Requirements
- Hold a valid Queensland Blue Card issued by the Public Safety Business Agency.
- Possess a "C" class driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in human services and management are highly regarded.
