Job description
Role Overview
This contract role sits within a platform operations team supporting enterprise and U.S. government customer programs. The position is designed for a cleared contractor who can carry out day-to-day operational workflows in a sensitive, security-conscious environment.
Pay and Duration
The assignment offers compensation at $100 to $120 per hour and is expected to run for 3 months, with a possibility of extension or conversion after that period.
Location and Working Hours
This is a remote role, with a preference for candidates who can work within the PST time zone. Candidates should be comfortable operating during U.S. Pacific hours and communicating asynchronously in writing.
Why This Role Exists
The current provisioning workload has grown beyond what the existing team can support, creating the need for additional operational coverage.
What You Will Do
You will manage highly sensitive operational workstreams, coordinate access and provisioning activities, and help improve the processes that support security, compliance, and execution across teams. Success in this role depends on accuracy, judgment, discretion, and the ability to influence stakeholders in a high-trust environment.
Operational Scope
- Perform account setup and configuration tasks in internal administrative systems using established runbooks.
- Work through approved request batches on schedule, confirm that changes are applied correctly, and escalate anything that does not match expectations.
- Keep operational records current by updating trackers, closing request threads, and identifying mismatches between system records and live system behavior.
- Partner with internal teams across multiple deployment environments, including government cloud environments.
- Recommend updates to runbooks when documented procedures no longer reflect how systems actually function.
- Drive operational improvements that make processes more efficient, scalable, and reliable.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a mid-to-senior operations professional with strong program and project management capability, excellent organizational discipline, and a track record of running complex cross-functional initiatives. Experience in a technology company, especially in operations or deployment-support functions, would be a strong fit.
Additional Requirements and Notes
Because the work is highly sensitive, attention to detail is essential; mistakes can create serious operational, security, or compliance issues. Candidates should be comfortable working in structured internal tools, handling high-volume execution tasks, and raising bugs or unanswered questions to the right stakeholders. Clear written communication and the ability to work independently are important.
Success Measures
Strong performance in this role means routine requests are completed the same day, issues and process gaps are surfaced quickly, proactive problem-solving is demonstrated, and full-time staff are able to focus more fully on program ownership.
