Role Overview
Johnson & Johnson is hiring for its Global Services hub in Bengaluru, India, for the Account to Report (A2R) team. This role sits within the Global Finance organization and focuses on accounting leadership, process excellence, compliance, and team development in a global shared services environment.
The A2R function operates as a global, process-driven team that delivers financial services in a standardized, efficient, and compliant way. The role is based in Bengaluru and involves working closely with business finance partners, process experts, and regional/global stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all work follows applicable laws, regulations, and Johnson & Johnson Credo principles.
- Oversee the accounting function and day-to-day operations for the Account to Report team.
- Ensure financial close activities are completed on time and in line with the close calendar, SLA commitments, internal audit standards, and SOX requirements.
- Own the accuracy, completeness, and validity of reported actuals within the assigned process or entity scope.
- Build deep subject-matter expertise across the team on worldwide procedures and compliance expectations.
- Lead a sizeable accounting team spread across Global Services hubs.
- Support auditors and regulatory/legal authorities during required reviews and activities.
- Track, strengthen, and address compliance obligations across the team while escalating and mitigating risks promptly.
- Maintain robust internal controls to support strong internal and external audit outcomes.
- Attract, develop, motivate, and retain a high-performing and diverse Credo-based team.
- Create succession plans and support ongoing career development for team members.
- Drive effective performance management across the team.
- Lead teams made up of analysts, team leads, and senior team leads.
- Influence business strategy and solutions by showing strong commercial awareness and judgment.
- Recruit, mentor, and coordinate process subject-matter experts to keep documentation consistent and processes aligned across regions and sectors.
- Act as the operational key contact, where assigned, for a specific region and sector, managing queries, coordinating issue resolution, and sharing close status updates with partners.
- Promote continuous improvement by identifying efficiency opportunities and supporting new ways of working.
- Drive and support operational change that benefits the wider global organization.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, is required; accounting, finance, or a related business field is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as ACA, ICWA, CPA, CMA, MBA, or similar finance credentials are highly desirable.
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience is required.
- At least 4 years of management or supervisory experience is required.
- Strong interpersonal ability and confidence in working with people at all levels.
- Clear, concise communication skills for engaging varied stakeholders.
- Comfort with change, new ideas, and emerging technologies.
- Experience in a multinational shared services center is preferred.
- Experience handling Global Account to Report responsibilities in a large multi-state organization is preferred.
- Ability to work through ambiguity with a practical and solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong organization, prioritization, and deadline management skills.
- Proven knowledge of US GAAP accounting is preferred.
- Exposure to digital or intelligent automation tools and methods is preferred.
Additional Information
This role may require shift work to support global regions including the Americas, EMEA, and Asia. It may also involve up to 5% international travel, depending on business needs.
The position can include other regional, global, or cross-functional responsibilities as assigned. English fluency is required, and additional language skills are considered an advantage.
