About the Role

This Management Accountant position is with KINTO UK, a mobility brand under the Toyota Group, based in Portsmouth. The core responsibility is to ensure the accurate and timely production of management accounts, maintain balance sheet integrity, and implement robust financial controls throughout the business. The Management Accounts team is central to the Finance function, providing essential financial governance, performance insights, and supporting effective decision-making. The team is tasked with upholding balance sheet accuracy, overseeing strong internal controls, and guaranteeing that financial data is precise, delivered promptly, and is dependable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation, review, and delivery of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to reporting schedules.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, verifying that all balances are fully supported and promptly addressing any identified issues.
  • Examine and challenge financial transactions to confirm compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal control procedures.
  • Assist the Management Accounts Manager by providing financial analysis, commentary, and insights to senior management.
  • Serve as a primary Finance liaison for internal stakeholders, offering clear explanations and reliable financial support.
  • Contribute to treasury-related tasks as needed, including cash reconciliations and working capital management.
  • Maintain comprehensive audit trails and support internal and external audit processes.
  • Actively seek and implement opportunities for process, control, and efficiency improvements within the Management Accounts department.

Requirements

  • Possess a strong technical accounting foundation with demonstrated experience in preparing management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Be a part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or a Qualified by Experience (QBE).
  • Exhibit a high degree of attention to detail, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Have prior experience with ERP systems like SAP and advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively within a structured month-end closing process.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently, engaging effectively with non-finance professionals.
  • Show a strong sense of ownership and accountability for results.
  • Maintain a robust control mindset and possess the confidence to challenge appropriately.
  • Adopt a collaborative approach, fostering trust and building effective working relationships.
  • Be proactive and focused on continuous improvement, always looking for enhanced ways of working.

Additional Information

This role operates on a 37.5-hour week, Monday to Friday. A hybrid working policy allows for up to 2 days of remote work per week if desired.
