Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Service Person to join our Tauriko team, responsible primarily for cleaning and maintaining public amenities such as toilets, parks, and removing illegally dumped roadside litter. This hands-on role is critical to sustaining high-quality public services within Downer's contracted sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine cleaning and upkeep of park facilities, including toilets, BBQs, bins, and furniture, ensuring high standards.
• Collect litter and maintain public spaces to enhance community experience.
• Follow Safety, Quality, and Environmental (SQE) policies to maintain safe work operations.
• Identify and document hazards before commencing work on-site.
• Remain alert to public safety in work areas and modify activities accordingly.
• Engage with clients and the public to address concerns and ensure satisfaction.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, permanent job with scheduled work from Tuesday to Saturday. The role involves traveling to various locations, often working independently, and participation in an on-call rotation as needed. Employees are trusted to manage their workloads and uphold high service levels throughout their routes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience in facilities maintenance, cleaning, amenities upkeep, or related outdoor roles.
• Possession of a full Class 1 driver’s license; holding a Class 2 license is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills and comfort engaging with the public.
• Basic literacy and technical proficiency to complete paperwork and operate handheld devices.
• Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and grow.
