Role Purpose

The Maintenance Officer will collaborate with guests and the team by ensuring the safe and consistent operation of all resort equipment and facilities. This role is crucial in maintaining the resort's positive image and protecting its assets. Key duties include performing daily maintenance tasks, adhering to preventative maintenance schedules, contributing to the upkeep of our extensive rainforest gardens, championing Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) standards in all work practices, promptly addressing urgent repair needs, and diligently inspecting and maintaining tools and equipment. The role also requires a hands-on approach, involving practical 'mucking-in' tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe and reliable availability of equipment and facilities for guests and staff.
  • Contribute to the positive image and asset protection of the resort.
  • Execute daily maintenance tasks and adhere to preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Assist in the maintenance and care of the resort's extensive rainforest gardens.
  • Champion WH&S standards across all work methods and areas.
  • Respond to and resolve urgent repair requests efficiently.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Undertake practical, hands-on maintenance duties as required.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in a maintenance role, with a strong practical aptitude ('tinkerer' mentality).
  • Proven ability to balance safety requirements with maintenance scheduling, minimizing guest disruption.
  • Experience in performing maintenance and general upkeep within a customer-focused environment.
  • Willingness to work weekends as required.
