- Complete wall painting and minor touch-up work.
- Perform simple carpentry fixes such as doors, shelves, and fixtures.
- Identify maintenance problems and choose suitable repair solutions.
- Set work priorities based on urgency and any safety concerns.
- Ensure all tasks follow health, safety, and daycare compliance standards.
- Inspect facilities regularly to spot possible issues before they become larger problems.
- Liaise with outside vendors when repairs require specialist support.
- Keep accurate documentation of repairs, materials used, and service requests.
- Share maintenance updates and requirements with management, including Area Directors.
- Travel between daycare locations as needed.
Qualifications and experience

- Working knowledge of basic plumbing, minor electrical repairs, carpentry, and general building upkeep.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and make decisions independently.
- Strong awareness of workplace health and safety practices.
- Well-developed organizational and prioritization abilities.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work with staff and leadership.
- Reliable, punctual, and capable of handling tasks without close supervision.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel between locations.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in childcare centres, schools, or similar environments is considered an advantage.
- WHMIS or comparable safety certification is a plus.
- Good understanding of general building systems and repair work.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across different locations.
- Valid BC driver’s licence.
- Physical ability to complete maintenance duties such as lifting, bending, and ladder work.
- Strong communication skills.
- A valid Criminal Record Check, or willingness to obtain one before starting, is required for licensed childcare settings.
What we offer
