Role overview
New Gold is now part of Coeur Mining, an all-North American precious metals producer. This position supports the Mine Maintenance team by keeping the facility clean, organized, and stocked so daily work can continue safely and efficiently.
Work schedule and reporting line
The role follows a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation. It reports to the Superintendent, Mine Maintenance.
What you will do
- Keep bathrooms, lunch trailers, offices, desks, conference rooms, and other shared areas clean and disinfected.
- Dust, sweep, vacuum, and mop surfaces, and remove garbage and recycling from all work areas.
- Replenish cleaning and hygiene supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, and dish soap.
- Use cleaning equipment carefully and operate electrical or mechanical equipment when needed.
- Track and maintain an appropriate stock of cleaning supplies.
What the employer is looking for
Prior janitorial or housekeeping experience is preferred, along with a clear commitment to safe work practices. Candidates should be able to follow sanitation procedures, work well in a team, communicate effectively, and handle lifting, unloading, and moving cleaning supplies between storage and work areas.
Knowledge and environment
Helpful knowledge includes safety rules and protocols in an industrial or mine setting and familiarity with WHMIS. Applicants who live in Northwestern Ontario and have cross-cultural work experience, together with an understanding of the realities and opportunities of life in Northwestern Ontario, are considered an asset.

Priority will be given to qualified applicants who are beneficiaries of the Impact Benefits Agreement (IBA) and to qualified applicants residing in Northwest Ontario communities. Compensation and benefits
The expected salary range for this role is $58,000 to $61,000 per year. The package also includes a competitive base salary, compensation programs, a quarterly incentive plan, extended health and dental coverage, short-term and long-term disability insurance, and a defined matching contribution to a group registered retirement savings account.

Coeur Mining is a growing precious metals producer with operations across North America, including Rainy River in Ontario. The Rainy River mine is an open pit and underground gold and silver producing residential site located about 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario, near the Ontario/Minnesota border. The area is known for wildlife, outdoor recreation, and northern living.
