Job description
Overview
We are seeking a Mainframe Developer possessing 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience with key mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS. The role involves creating, maintaining, and supporting mainframe applications by collaborating closely with both business stakeholders and technical teams.
Primary Duties
- Create and sustain mainframe application solutions.
- Develop and update COBOL programs along with JCL scripts.
- Manage and interact with DB2 databases and CICS transactions.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to mainframe applications.
- Conduct testing and assist with deployment support.
- Engage in production support responsibilities as needed.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proficiency in COBOL programming language.
- Experience handling Job Control Language (JCL).
- Knowledge and use of DB2 database management.
- Experience with CICS transaction processing.
- Familiarity with VSAM and TSO/ISPF environments.
Educational Background and Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 2 to 3 years of practical experience in mainframe software development.
- Strong analytical aptitude coupled with problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaborative team working capabilities.
