Role Overview
This contract role is for a macroeconomic modeling specialist with advanced EViews expertise. The assignment is fully remote and centered on building, validating, and operationalizing time-series models that support economic forecasting and policy-oriented analysis.
The engagement is expected to require about 10 to 40 hours per week, with compensation set between $35 and $100 per hour.
Core Responsibilities
- Build and apply advanced time-series modeling approaches in EViews, including VAR, VECM, ARIMA, and cointegration-based methods.
- Test model reliability through thorough diagnostics, stability checks, and validation exercises to strengthen forecast quality.
- Create automated forecasting processes that improve speed, consistency, and scale across modeling tasks.
- Interpret statistical outputs and turn them into practical macroeconomic takeaways for both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
- Prepare clear, concise documentation describing the modeling methods used and the findings produced.
- Work alongside the client’s team to embed modeling outputs into wider economic analysis and policy recommendations.
Requirements
- Strong practical experience using EViews, including scripting and automation features.
- Hands-on expertise in constructing, estimating, and checking time-series models, especially VAR, VECM, ARIMA, and cointegration models.
- Solid understanding of diagnostics, stability testing, and forecast accuracy evaluation.
- Excellent quantitative ability with the capacity to explain technical modeling concepts clearly in written and spoken communication.
- Proven ability to automate modeling and forecasting workflows.
- Self-motivated, detail-focused, and comfortable collaborating remotely.
