Job description
Role overview
Amazon’s operations network moves millions of parcels each day with a strong focus on speed, precision, and reliable customer service. To help keep that network protected and running smoothly, the company is hiring a Security and Loss Prevention (SLP) Specialist. This is a practical, detail-focused role that supports security across operational locations throughout the supply chain, with the goal of protecting people and reducing loss.
What you will do
In this role, you will act as a security partner for operational sites and help strengthen business continuity. You will contribute to emergency and crisis planning for the locations in your area, identify security and loss-related weaknesses, and help define practical measures to reduce those risks while staying aligned with legal and ethical requirements.
You will also coordinate with local management and outside stakeholders such as law enforcement and industry groups on security matters, and make sure assigned sites follow Amazon’s global security standards.
Day-to-day work
As part of the Security and Loss Prevention team, you will support multiple business areas within a defined region. Your work will include regular physical security audits, investigations into policy breaches, security incidents, and loss events, as well as monitoring systems and reviewing reports to gather evidence.
You will interview relevant people, analyze findings, and use that information to help improve processes and reduce vulnerabilities. A key part of the job is maintaining the physical security of sites by checking system health, working with subject matter experts and vendors to keep security systems functioning, and coordinating closely with external security providers to ensure a high standard of service.
You will communicate regularly with internal teams such as legal, HR, and security providers, while also serving as a subject matter resource for loss prevention topics. In addition, you will deliver awareness and training activities related to loss prevention and support policy and procedure discussions across all management levels.
About the team
The Security and Loss Prevention function sits within Global Security Operations and supports Amazon’s business goals and brand protection by managing threats and security risks that could affect associates, customers, business continuity, company assets, or reputation.
The team works closely with stakeholders to safeguard the end-to-end supply chain, anticipate risks early, respond quickly to incidents, and investigate root causes so that similar issues do not happen again.
