About the Role

As a Logistics Specialist based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, you will engage collaboratively with diverse and innovative teams worldwide, driving impactful logistics management aligned with 3M's standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliant, efficient, and cost-effective import operations within Saudi Arabia adhering to local laws and internal procedures.
  • Organize inbound transportation from ports or airports to warehouses or customer sites to guarantee timely delivery.
  • Monitor shipment timelines, transit stages, and handovers to maintain complete end-to-end visibility and punctuality.
  • Collaborate with approved transporters, freight forwarders, customs brokers, third-party logistics providers (3PLs), and certification authorities to ensure activities meet compliance standards.
  • Prepare, vet, and submit accurate import documentation such as invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of entry, permits, Saber certificates, and other relevant papers.
  • Manage customs clearance processes effectively to minimize delays, fines, shipment rejections, holds, and demurrage fees.
  • Communicate proactively regarding shipment statuses, delays, risks, and logistical challenges to both internal teams and external partners.
  • Address logistics issues including port congestion, delivery delays, damaged goods, incomplete documentation, and warehouse preparedness concerns.
  • Evaluate transporter and logistics performance via metrics like on-time delivery rates, damage frequency, turnaround duration, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Review and approve freight invoices, maintain logistics reporting, and contribute to continuous enhancement of import and transport operations.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Saudi Arabian nationals only.
  • Bachelor's degree mandatory; Master’s degree desirable.
  • Experience in import processes, customs clearance, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Familiarity with Saudi customs regulations and related import documentation.
  • Strong abilities in coordination, communication, and problem-solving.
  • Fluency in both English and Arabic languages.
  • Valid driving license required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Saber certification procedures.
  • Knowledge of working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and 3PL providers.
  • Understanding of trade compliance standards, ERP/logistics management software, and freight invoice auditing.

Job Specifics

  • Office location: 3M Riyadh, Cordoba district, Saudi Arabia.
  • Work model: Full-time, five days per week on-site.
  • Travel requirements: Up to 5% domestic and international travel may be expected.
  • Relocation assistance is not provided.
