Role Summary
The Distribution Operations Manager will be stationed at the customer site in Fort Worth, TX, collaborating with business leaders to define and manage both business processes and technology roadmaps. This role involves driving change management through collaboration and people leadership, maintaining a customer-focused approach, and overseeing several operational processes critical to daily functions. The manager will provide coaching and guidance to peers, analyze impacts on inventory and logistics, and develop mitigation strategies through root cause and corrective action analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for managing all operations exceptions and operational reporting for the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) facility.
- Monitor and manage Key Performance Indicators including OTIF, dock-to-stock, inventory accuracy, ticket SLAs, metrics, and cost savings while supporting process improvements and corrective action initiatives.
- Supervise daily warehouse operations within a 1.2 million square foot facility.
- Prioritize and align initiatives effectively in a dynamic environment with multiple interdependencies.
- Partner closely with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and internal teams to optimize on-site and off-site processes.
- Coordinate with hubs, spokes, and transportation units to maintain steady flow and capacity; occasional on-call/off-shift support with 10–20% local travel.
- Manage issue resolution by reviewing site access ticket queues, directing tickets appropriately, monitoring unified ticketing systems, escalating issues with precise data, and analyzing trends using sheets and basic business intelligence tools.
- Continuously evaluate and update team processes and standard operating procedures by applying continuous improvement methodologies such as PDCA, DMAIC, and A3.
- Lead or support projects aimed at cost reduction and process optimization, recommending best practices to customers and 3PL partners.
- Maintain consolidated trackers and pilot projects to visualize site activities and upcoming volumes.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings, documenting decisions and follow-up activities.
- Provide clear, concise status reports to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish trust with operations leadership by combining direct operational insight with data analysis.
Required Qualifications
- Outstanding customer service and relationship management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in supply chain or logistics, preferably within distribution centers or 3PL environments.
- Capability to define, develop, and document business processes and procedures.
- Proactive self-starter able to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and project management tools; familiarity with Google Workspace is advantageous.
- Experience applying continuous improvement frameworks such as PDCA.
