Job Overview

The role involves driving HR trucks locally, delivering general freight to support the Cairns Branch and surrounding areas while providing excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities

• Transport general freight locally to support the Cairns branch and community.
• Complete required paperwork including pre-start checks, run sheets, proof of delivery (PODs), and logbooks.
• Use IT systems such as PDAs to scan freight and capture live signatures.
• Perform manual handling tasks, such as opening and closing gates and pulling truck curtains.
• Adhere strictly to safety procedures and company standards to ensure accurate and safe delivery of goods.
• Maintain a steady, methodical work pace to ensure accuracy and quality.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Current HR driver's license with some experience driving MR/LR class vehicles.
• Preferably some previous experience in truck driving or the transport sector.
• Forklift license and experience is desirable but not mandatory.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical examination including drug and alcohol testing.
• Successful completion of a criminal history check after the interview stage.
• Professional attitude with a strong commitment to accountability and goal achievement.
• Ability to consistently produce detailed, high-quality work following established procedures and guidelines.
• Comfortable working in a stable environment with routine tasks and processes.
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with peers and management ensuring efficient and error-free operations.
