Job description

About the Role

Join a leading global company offering competitive compensation, bonuses, and extensive benefits including critical illness coverage, discounted gym memberships, enhanced parental leave, and electric vehicle incentives. Celebrated as a top employer for 14 consecutive years, this role sits within the Grains hub team at the Cupar site, focusing on scheduling production for Oatso, Trads, and Bulk lines.

The Line Scheduler acts as the critical link bridging supply planners and manufacturing teams. You will transform the short-term supply plan into a detailed, executable schedule for production, managing plans across a six-week period and fine-tuning hourly machine schedules for the immediate three weeks. The position involves impacting customer service levels, manufacturing costs, and key performance indicators, alongside contributing to integrated sales and operations planning and annual operating plan capacity development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Convert the short-term supply plan (0–6 weeks) into a precise production timetable, including daily site-wide coordination and detailed hourly scheduling for the initial 0–3 weeks.
  • Take ownership of scheduling across all Cupar factory production lines, balancing resources to optimize efficiency and output.
  • Manage daily supply exceptions by revising schedules promptly based on comprehensive supply chain insights and acting decisively at the operational level.
  • Ensure all planning trade-off decisions align with supply chain stakeholders and are data-driven.
  • Maintain and update scheduling software and master data within Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PPDS), ensuring accuracy and system reliability.
  • Serve as the operational liaison between supply planning and site manufacturing, executing and communicating plan adjustments effectively.
  • Monitor and report daily performance metrics such as Plan Supply Agreement and Volume Fill, contributing to weekly planning discussions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and major projects including R&D, productivity enhancements, and LEAN processes, while managing obsolete inventory risks.
  • Participate in Integrated Sales & Operations Planning (iS&OP) and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) activities, providing capacity planning support; also cover roles like MRP and Oats planning as necessary.
  • Drive issue resolution and performance improvements by collaborating cross-functionally, governing PSA/VFill processes, and independently solving production challenges.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience with end-to-end supply chain processes or planning within manufacturing environments.
  • Strong technical understanding of plant operations, including capacity and bottleneck analysis (preferred).
  • Ability to use systems and process knowledge to analyze data and determine optimal actions to meet outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Structured, flexible problem-solving mindset capable of performing well under pressure.
  • High attention to detail and a strong motivation to achieve results.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of supply chain dynamics and the implications of changes across network and planning teams.
  • Self-driven initiative to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Workplace Culture and Diversity

The company fosters an inclusive culture that celebrates individuality and supports employee resource groups committed to diversity and inclusion. The organization provides equal employment opportunities in compliance with the Equality Act 2010 and welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds, offering any reasonable accommodations during recruitment.
