Job description

About the role

One&Only The Palm in Dubai is looking for a Lifeguard to help ensure a safe and welcoming experience for resort guests across the pool and beach areas. The property is a beachfront retreat in Dubai where modern style meets Arabian charm, and the team is focused on delivering thoughtful, precise and warm service.

This position plays an important part in the resort’s safety and guest experience. You will be responsible for monitoring water areas, applying preventative lifeguarding practices, and enforcing safety rules so that guests can enjoy the facilities in a secure environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Respond to guest needs in the resort environment and support a positive guest experience.
  • Watch over a designated zone and ensure safety rules are followed at all times.
  • Offer guidance and instructions to swimmers when needed.
  • Carry out end-of-day hose-down and cleaning tasks.
  • Assist with resort clean-up activities such as collecting waste and pressure washing.
  • Work in line with the resort’s policies, standards, and operating procedures.
  • Remain on your feet for extended periods and carry out physically demanding tasks with flexibility.
  • Work in both hot and cold weather conditions, including cold water.
  • Help with rescues, including lifting injured or distressed guests onto a backboard.
  • Move and carry heavy equipment such as hoses, tables, and signs.
  • Complete any additional duties assigned by supervisors based on operational needs.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate will report directly to the Recreation Manager and should have 1-2 years of experience in upscale luxury hospitality or a five-star hotel setting. Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to stay calm and effective under pressure are essential.

Excellent spoken and written English is required, and knowledge of another language is also beneficial. Prior experience in the Middle East or GCC region will be considered an advantage.

What this opportunity is about

You will be joining a fast-growing hospitality brand that values creativity, warmth, precision, and a genuine commitment to guest happiness. The team aims to create memorable experiences and deliver exceptional service with energy, care, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Additional information

The role requires strong physical stamina, rescue readiness, and the ability to perform a variety of operational tasks that support the smooth running of the resort’s recreation areas.
