Role overview
Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts is hiring a full-time Lifeguard in Dubai Marina, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This is a non-management position in the Golf, Fitness, & Entertainment category, and the role is based onsite.

What you will do
You will be responsible for monitoring the swimming area, responding quickly when swimmers need support, and helping maintain a safe and welcoming environment for guests. The role also includes keeping the poolside area clean and orderly, reinforcing facility rules, and alerting a supervisor or manager whenever a guest may not be able to safely take part in an activity.
- Use the correct rescue methods when a swimmer appears to need help.
- Watch the designated swimming area for hazards, unsafe behavior, unusual activity, or swimmers in distress.
- Enforce the recreational facility’s rules and regulations.
- Report situations where a guest should not participate safely in an activity.
- Provide assistance to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
- Create a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere for guests.
- Collect, fold, and stack towels according to company procedures.
- Wash, scrub, and clean the pool deck and surrounding area.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the manager.
- Complete safety training and obtain required certifications.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, and report maintenance concerns, hazards, accidents, or injuries.
- Maintain a neat, professional uniform and personal appearance.
- Protect company property and keep proprietary information confidential.
- Support coworkers and treat everyone with dignity and respect.
- Work as part of the team to help achieve shared goals.
- Meet quality assurance expectations and standards.
- Handle physical tasks that include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and positioning items under 50 lbs (22.50 kg) without assistance.
- Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and positioning items over 75 lbs (33.75 kg).
- Stand, sit, or walk for long periods, including the full shift.
- Move at the pace needed to respond to work situations, including running or jogging.
- Inspect tools, equipment, or machinery visually for defects.
- Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of different sizes and weights using fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, crouching, and stooping.
- Move across sloped, uneven, or slippery surfaces and stairs.
- Climb up and down ladders.
- Use service stairs and/or ramps.
- Greet and recognize all guests according to company standards.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, including answering phone calls with proper etiquette.
- Perform other reasonable job duties assigned by supervisors.
Eligibility and qualifications
Applicants should have a secondary school certificate or an equivalent GED qualification. No prior related work experience or supervisory experience is required. The role requires CPR certification, first aid certification, fitness training equipment, and any other training or certification required by local and state agencies.
