Job description
About Atlantis Dubai
Atlantis Dubai, part of Kerzner International, brings together two signature destinations: Atlantis, The Palm and Atlantis The Royal. These resorts are known for high-end hospitality, distinctive experiences, and a strong focus on service excellence and innovation.
With more than 6,000 colleagues representing 129 nationalities, the operation functions as one coordinated team across both resorts, with every department contributing to memorable guest and colleague experiences.
Role Overview
This opening is for a Lifeguard who will help maintain a safe and enjoyable environment across several resort and leisure areas. The role suits someone who is active, comfortable outdoors, and motivated by guest safety and teamwork.
The position involves rotating across multiple locations, including resort pools at Atlantis The Palm, Atlantis The Royal, Aquaventure Waterpark, and assigned beach areas. The job also includes guest support, safety enforcement, and assistance with ride and swimmer coordination.
Key Duties
You will be expected to safeguard guests across the assigned recreation areas, keep pool spaces tidy, answer guest questions, and ensure all rules and safety standards are followed consistently.
Daily work may include giving instructions to swimmers and riders, supporting ride dispatch operations, and responding quickly and appropriately when assistance is needed.
Working Conditions
The schedule is typically 5 to 6 days per week, with working hours of up to 48 hours. The role requires long periods of standing, exposure to hot weather, and a strong level of physical endurance.
Colleagues in this position also take part in at least four hours of safety training each month to strengthen lifeguarding capability and support ongoing development under senior team guidance.
Candidate Profile
Experience as a lifeguard or swimming instructor is helpful, but it is not a strict requirement. More important is the ability to swim 200 meters without stopping, tread water, and physically assist guests when necessary.
Strong awareness, quick decision-making, a proactive approach to guest service, and clear verbal communication are essential for success in this role.
Compensation and Benefits
The role offers a competitive salary paid tax-free in UAE Dirhams (AED). The benefits package includes generous food and beverage privileges, preferential rates at Kerzner properties worldwide, comprehensive health insurance with dental coverage, annual flights home, life insurance, an incentive programme, and a range of wellness and social initiatives for colleagues.
Growth and Development
Atlantis places strong emphasis on learning, career mobility, and internal progression. Colleagues have access to world-class training and opportunities to grow across the wider Kerzner portfolio, making this a strong fit for those looking for a long-term hospitality career.
Additional Information
The company is looking for fit, healthy individuals who enjoy working outdoors and are passionate about safety and teamwork. The resort describes this as an opportunity to join a dynamic environment where colleague development is actively supported.
