Job Overview

This position involves direct guest interaction, ensuring a safe and seamless experience for visitors at Yas Waterworld. The primary responsibility is to maintain guest safety by monitoring water areas, responding promptly to emergencies, operating rides and attractions, providing clear guidance, and participating in ongoing training to uphold essential swimming, lifeguarding, and basic life support proficiencies.

Job Scope

• Operate and ride all slides, rides, and attractions as part of operational duties.
• Ensure safety for guests, colleagues, and contractors at all times.
• Perform work involving heights, water exposure, and endure extreme outdoor temperatures throughout the year.
• Adhere strictly to manufacturer and departmental protocols regarding ride dispatch and guest safety processes.
• Maintain ongoing competency in rescue and basic life support skills, always remaining "test ready."
• Comply with departmental training standards consistently.
• Handle physical tasks such as moving furniture, ride vehicles, and equipment within the park.
• Communicate effectively with basic spoken English skills.
• Be willing to work during nights, evenings, and holidays.
• Maintain a friendly demeanor and smile while on duty.
• Collaborate effectively within a culturally diverse team environment.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Essential: Visual acuity of 20/25 vision, corrected or uncorrected; ability to swim a minimum of 50 meters non-stop using front crawl or breaststroke; able to swim underwater to 1.4 meters depth for 3 meters and retrieve a 10-pound brick; maintain lifeguard skills compliant with International Lifeguard Training Program standards; basic spoken English proficiency.
• Desirable: Completion of International Lifeguard Training Program or equivalent; swimming experience beyond minimum requirements; possession of UAE Driver’s or Buggy License; SCUBA certification; ability to swim 200 meters non-stop; retrieve a 10-pound brick from 5 meters depth; tread water for 2 minutes without arm assistance; intermediate or higher English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking); basic spoken Arabic proficiency.
• Experience: No previous experience required as essential; prior lifeguard or guest service experience is preferred.
