Job description

Role overview

This opportunity is for a partner company that handles its own hiring process, including applications and subsequent steps. The employer is seeking a Lifecycle Specialist focused on Time & Attendance and based in Germany.

In this role, you will support employee leave, attendance, and working time administration across several countries and legal systems. The position blends HR operations, compliance awareness, and strong service delivery to ensure employees and clients receive reliable guidance throughout the employment journey. You will work closely with teams across the business, manage nuanced employee situations, and help strengthen global HR processes. The role is fully remote and international, with a strong emphasis on accurate data, legal compliance, and a positive employee experience. It also includes opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, innovation, and the thoughtful use of AI-enabled tools.

Key accountabilities

  • Oversee employee lifecycle matters connected to time and attendance, such as sick leave, family leave, working hours, public holidays, and time tracking, while keeping accuracy, compliance, and employee experience front and center.
  • Serve as a reliable point of guidance for employees and clients on employment law, leave rules, contractual commitments, and labor law obligations in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Help roll out legal and policy updates, including changes tied to collective bargaining agreements, and support more complex initiatives and projects.
  • Work with internal partners in payroll, legal, and finance, as well as external authorities, to ensure employee lifecycle handling remains compliant and efficient.
  • Contribute to audits, compliance assessments, and operational projects that affect employees across different countries.
  • Keep internal documentation current and improve policies and procedures in line with regulatory and legal updates.
  • Look for ways to streamline workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and use AI-supported tools to improve speed, quality, and consistency.
  • Handle confidential employee data with professionalism and strict respect for privacy and data protection requirements.

Requirements

  • Prior background in Human Resources, Payroll, Employee Lifecycle Management, or a similar area, with clear exposure to leave and attendance administration.
  • Good knowledge of employment legislation, employee relations, and compliance standards across more than one country or jurisdiction.
  • Experience dealing with complex absence cases, including extended sick leave, supporting documents, payroll impacts, and coordination with stakeholders, is strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder-management abilities, especially in sensitive situations.
  • Professional-level written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-moving, international, fully remote setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and disciplined documentation and data-accuracy habits.
  • Comfort using collaboration and project tools such as Slack, Notion, Zendesk, Google Workspace, and similar platforms.
  • Interest in process improvement, automation, and responsible AI use, including familiarity with AI-assisted tools in HR or operations workflows.
  • Capacity to juggle several priorities while maintaining high standards of service and compliance.

Benefits

  • Annual compensation between USD 29,750 and USD 67,000, depending on location, experience, skills, and market conditions.
  • Completely remote setup with the freedom to work from anywhere.
  • Flexible working schedule with an asynchronous culture.
  • Flexible paid time off.
  • 16 weeks of paid parental leave.
  • Access to mental health and wellbeing support.
  • Equity through stock options.
  • Dedicated budget for learning and development.
  • Home office allowance plus company-provided IT equipment.
  • Funding for local coworking spaces and in-person social events.
  • Opportunities for internal moves, career progression, and international collaboration.
  • An inclusive, diverse environment that prioritizes professional growth and employee wellbeing.

Hiring process

The selection process includes a recruiter interview, hiring manager interview, senior manager interview, bar raiser interview, employment verification check, and then an offer stage.

Privacy and recruitment notes

Applications are reviewed using an AI-supported matching approach designed to assess candidates quickly, consistently, and fairly against the role’s core requirements. Shortlisted profiles are shared with the hiring company, while the final decision and any next steps are managed internally by the employer.

By applying, candidates acknowledge that personal data may be processed to evaluate candidacy and shared with the hiring employer under applicable data protection rules, including GDPR, on the basis of legitimate interest and pre-contractual measures. Applicants may exercise their rights to access, correct, delete, or object to processing at any time.

AI tools may also be used during parts of the recruitment workflow, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or checking responses for inconsistencies or verification indicators. These tools support the recruitment team but do not replace human judgment, and final hiring decisions are made by people.
