About the Role
This position is for a lifeguard at Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts in Dubai Marina, Dubai. The role sits within the Golf, Fitness, & Entertainment category and is a full-time, non-management role based on-site. The environment is focused on guest safety, attentive service, and maintaining a welcoming recreational atmosphere.
What You’ll Do
- Watch the swimming area continuously and act quickly using the correct rescue methods when a swimmer needs help.
- Spot unsafe behavior, hazardous conditions, or guests who may be struggling in the water.
- Enforce the recreation area’s rules and make sure guests follow facility guidelines.
- Identify situations where a guest may not be able to safely take part in an activity and escalate them to a supervisor or manager.
- Assist injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
- Help create a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere for guests using the pool or recreation area.
- Collect, fold, and arrange towels in line with company procedures.
- Clean the pool deck by washing and mopping as needed.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions promptly and complete required safety training and certifications.
- Follow company standards on conduct, confidentiality, and protection of company property.
Guest Service and Workplace Expectations
- Greet guests warmly and follow company standards for professional appearance and service.
- Notice guest needs in advance, including supporting guests with disabilities.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and colleagues.
- Work respectfully with team members and contribute to a positive, cooperative environment.
- Meet quality assurance standards and inspect tools, equipment, or machines for defects when needed.
- Respond quickly to situations and be able to run, walk, jog, or move at the pace required by the job.
- Remain standing, sitting, or walking for long periods or for an entire shift.
- Lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects up to 50 pounds independently and more than 75 pounds with assistance.
- Handle objects of different sizes and weights with good hand-eye coordination and fine motor control.
- Move safely on wet, uneven, or sloped surfaces, as well as on ladders, stairs, and service ramps.
- Bend, twist, stoop, pull, and reach above and below knee level as part of normal duties.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The preferred education level is a high school diploma or GED equivalent. No prior related work experience or supervisory experience is required. Applicants must hold CPR certification, First Aid certification, and any additional certification or training required by local or state authorities. Fitness equipment certification is also required where applicable.
