Licensed Aircraft Engineer Level I - Light Maintenance (Avionics - B2)

Overview

Qatar Airways is seeking a Licensed Aircraft Engineer Level I specializing in Light Maintenance of Avionics (B2) to join the team in Doha. The role focuses on executing aircraft maintenance duties that directly support flight operations and maintenance checks within the scope of the engineer's licensing and authority, ensuring safe, effective, and efficient aircraft operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently plan and execute assigned maintenance tasks while using appropriate equipment and tools according to company procedures.
• Review and suggest enhancements to work procedures to improve effectiveness and compliance with standards.
• Approve completed work by mechanics, guaranteeing adherence to company standards including dispatch reliability and management of deferred defects.
• Maintain delivery quality standards for Qatar Airways products by completing aircraft maintenance as per established guidelines and supporting internal and external customers professionally.
• Implement technical solutions within authorized limits and ensure aircraft and components meet serviceability and scheduling requirements.
• Provide supervision, on-the-job training, and guidance to technicians and aircraft mechanics.
• Enforce quality workmanship and proper tool usage among colleagues during supervised tasks.
• Undertake any additional departmental responsibilities as directed by the department head.

Additional Responsibilities

• Engage in new aircraft selection and definition alongside company stakeholders.
• Contribute to defining product requirements and scope during Initial Technical Coordination Meetings, Preliminary Design Reviews, and Critical Design Reviews with suppliers and internal teams.
• Assist Aircraft Program Team in creating Product Specification Documents and Quality Criteria Documents meeting or exceeding Qatar Airways standards.
• Participate in evaluating product mock-ups and demonstration units at supplier facilities or trade shows.
• Verify product realization through first article inspections in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Take part in pre-definition activities such as trade studies, conferences, and meetings with OEMs and other operators.
• Provide technical advice and support to resolve quality issues within the Aircraft Program Team.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Trade, Vocational Aircraft Maintenance, or Degree such as B.Eng. or BSc in Aircraft Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• Possession of at least one full Qatar Airways main fleet ICAO/QCAA license with necessary approvals.
