Licensed Aircraft Engineer - Cabin Maintenance

Role overview

This position is responsible for carrying out aircraft maintenance work that supports flight operations, including maintenance checks and related duties within the scope of a Licensed Aircraft Engineer. The role calls for specialist technical knowledge and the ability to help ensure operations remain safe, efficient, and effective.

Key responsibilities

• Organize assigned work efficiently and use the appropriate equipment and tooling in line with company maintenance procedures.
• Review existing work methods and standards, and suggest improvements where current processes are not suitable.
• Carry responsibility for the final release of work completed by mechanics, ensuring tasks meet company and customer standards such as dispatch reliability and acceptable deferred defect levels.
• Make sure aircraft maintenance work is completed according to established policies and procedures, and that internal and external customer support standards are maintained.
• Apply practical solutions to technical issues within the limits of authority and help maintain aircraft/component serviceability to meet schedule demands.
• Provide supervision, guidance, and on-the-job coaching to technicians and aircraft mechanics reporting to the role.
• When overseeing others, ensure workmanship remains at the required standard and that the correct tools are used for each task.
• Carry out any other department-related duties assigned by the Head of Department.

Qualifications and experience

• A diploma in aircraft maintenance, a trade or vocational qualification in aircraft maintenance, or a degree such as B.Eng. or BSc in aircraft engineering, along with at least one full QR main fleet ICAO/QCAA license and approvals.
• For internal candidates, a minimum of 3 years of job-related aircraft certifying experience as EN.00 is required.
• Must be able to arrange the required equipment and heavy vehicle driving license needed to support maintenance task requirements.
• Ability to determine the tools and equipment needed for a job.
• Ability to use mathematics for problem-solving.
• Ability to control the operation of equipment or systems.
