Legal Research Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking a Legal Research Analyst to join our team as a full-time member responsible for advancing AI applications in the legal sector. This remote position offers a competitive salary ranging from $350,000 to $500,000 annually. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in creating and refining evaluation systems for AI tools operating within various legal areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and continually improve frameworks to evaluate AI agents in legal contexts, including creating benchmark tests and scoring methods.
• Perform original research focused on legal reasoning, interpretation of statutes, and automating legal workflows.
• Develop and maintain datasets, case studies, and testing environments that reflect authentic legal challenges.
• Work closely with AI researchers and engineers to enhance legal AI models and autonomous systems.
• Assess the performance, reasoning accuracy, and identify potential failure points of AI models in legal applications.
• Document and disseminate internal research outcomes and best practices related to legal AI assessments.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess an advanced legal degree such as JD, LLM, SJD, PhD in Law, or an equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrate deep knowledge and expertise in legal specialties like corporate law, contracts, or regulatory compliance.
• Have a proven track record in conducting legal research, analyses, or policy-related work.
• Experience in designing structured approaches for evaluating the strength and quality of legal arguments or research.
• Exceptional analytical thinking and strong written communication abilities are essential.
