Job description
Role overview
This position is responsible for building and maintaining contract templates, serving as a specialist during the drafting of private contracts and agreements based on business needs, and helping resolve disputes with contractors. The role also involves reviewing agreements and memoranda of understanding executed inside and outside Saudi Arabia to confirm their legal validity and regulatory alignment.
Key duties
- Develop the framework and workflow for preparing and retaining agreement templates.
- Act as a subject-matter specialist while drafting private contracts and agreements to suit business requirements.
- Support the resolution of disputes with contractors.
- Examine agreements and memoranda of understanding concluded within and outside the Kingdom to verify their legal soundness and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Review agreement-management activities through the use of standardized templates.
- Provide advice on legal opinion matters referred by supervisors and relevant decision-makers.
- Recommend handling methods for initial complaints related to agreements until matters are resolved and the concerned parties are informed of the outcome.
- Assess contracts and memoranda of understanding to reduce legal exposure.
- Define measures to protect legal interests and oversee litigation, court proceedings, or arbitration when needed to defend against claims or legal actions related to agreements.
- Propose awareness activities related to agreements so internal and external stakeholders understand the relevant policies, procedures, and legal practices.
- Set approaches that encourage long-term working relationships with external vendors such as law firms, legal consultants, and outside advisers, and take part in handling preliminary or strategic escalations tied to agreement needs.
- Recommend legal support for all agreement-related work carried out by departments across the organization.
- Comply with work controls and conduct standards, as well as cybersecurity policies and procedures specific to the organizational unit.
- Perform any other duties assigned by direct supervisors.
Experience
A minimum of 6 years of experience in the same field is required.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field is required. A master’s degree in Law or a related field is preferred.
