Job description
Job Overview
We are collaborating with a Cork-based client to fill the role of a Lean Manufacturing Engineer for a 12-month contract. This role offers the chance to influence a fast-moving environment through impactful improvement projects, paired with a competitive hourly wage.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute Time and Motion Studies to uncover areas for efficiency gains.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing labor productivity, material handling, and overall manufacturing efficiency by applying industrial engineering techniques such as line balancing and flow optimization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement efficient workstation layouts.
- Create and refine standardized workflows for both new and existing product lines that prioritize safety and efficiency.
- Assist in capacity planning and labour forecasting to support current and future product launches.
- Play an active role in the facility’s Continuous Improvement initiatives, including conducting Bottleneck Analysis, Value Stream Mapping, and leading Kaizen events.
- Manage and execute critical projects using the Project Management Office (PMO) approach.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess at least a Level 8 degree in Engineering, Science, or a relevant field.
- Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in engineering roles focusing on process improvement, lean manufacturing, or operational excellence.
- Demonstrate solid knowledge and hands-on application of Lean manufacturing principles.
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification is advantageous.
