Job description
About the role
This position sits within SCM Planning & Visibility, which acts as the central coordination layer for end-to-end operations. The function covers planning, consolidation, tracking, and control activities that help keep orders moving smoothly across air, landside, and ocean transportation. It supports both Maersk-managed models such as 4PL and operated business models such as 3PL and 2PL.
The role contributes to long-term supply chain network and strategy decisions, including how to address capacity constraints and where production should be located. It also involves monitoring key commercial and operational performance indicators and working across teams to improve the effectiveness of supply chain offerings.
Leadership scope
This is a people leadership position with direct responsibility for managing employees, including hiring and exit decisions, coaching, mentoring, task coordination, performance reviews, pay-related inputs, and preparing team members for future roles. In addition to the leadership responsibilities, the role requires ownership of business and operational objectives, including setting direction, shaping policies and practices, and supporting business plan execution.
The position is suited to someone who can operate independently within defined guidelines in a specific area, while still seeking support on more complex situations. It requires practical knowledge of methods, procedures, and work techniques, with solutions typically chosen from known options after evaluating what is most appropriate and effective.
Work schedule
The shift is from 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM and may rotate depending on business requirements.
Experience required
- At least 8 years of total professional experience is required.
- At least 2 years of people leadership experience is needed, including managing a team of around 25 to 30 employees.
- The ideal candidate should have a strong track record of improving team performance, handling stakeholder expectations, and meeting operational goals in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the team on a day-to-day basis by setting priorities and ensuring timely completion of work.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors to maintain service quality and keep operations running effectively.
- Own and drive user acceptance testing for system updates and process improvements.
- Roll out new systems, tools, or process changes for the team and ensure successful adoption.
- Use data and reporting to support leadership with strategic and operational planning.
- Contribute to team-level or span-level projects that support organizational objectives.
Technical capabilities
Digital tools and platforms are considered an advantage. Familiarity with Power BI, AI tools, Power Automate, Tableau, Microsoft tools, Excel automation, and PowerPoint-based performance dashboards will be valued.
Additional information
The job calls for prior experience in a related field or practical knowledge gained through higher education. It also emphasizes broad technical knowledge, industry understanding, and the ability to lead both processes and people as the role progresses.
For this level, progression is based on developing stronger technical capability, business insight, and leadership maturity. The role is intended for someone who can guide others while also contributing to operational and strategic improvements within defined boundaries.
