Role Summary

We invite applications for the role of Lead Hand within our Country Operations team based at Goolgowi. Reporting to the Site Manager, the Lead Hand will support and oversee safe, efficient operation of grain storage facilities, providing leadership to site operators and ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and actively participate in grain receival operations.
• Assist with grain outturn and loading aligned with customer demands.
• Support quality control, storage maintenance, hygienic practices, and fumigation protocols.
• Lead small teams to meet daily objectives safely and efficiently.
• Operate machinery such as front-end loaders and telehandlers.
• Perform housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and administrative tasks on-site.
• Identify and manage hazards to uphold workplace safety.
• Engage in Toolbox Talks, safety meetings, and ongoing improvement programs.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate operational documentation as needed.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in grain, agriculture, logistics, or bulk handling sectors preferred.
• Proven ability to lead small teams and work autonomously.
• Strong focus on health, safety, and environmental best practices.
• Effective problem-solving skills with a proactive work approach.
• Capacity to adhere to procedures while adjusting to operational shifts.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
• Adaptable to a fast-paced and evolving work environment.

Essential Certifications and Licenses

• Valid Australian Driver's Licence required.
• Licences for front-end loader and telehandler operations are preferred.
• Accreditations in fumigation/pest control are advantageous.
• Confined Space Entry certification is preferred.
• Grain classification qualifications or experience is a plus but not mandatory.
