About the Role
This position is based at the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Readiness and Response, located in Atlanta, Georgia. The role involves leadership and support in Incident Management System activities related to emergency public health responses and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or support IMS leadership and subject matter experts during EOC exercises, activations, and emergency public health situations.
- Monitor, analyze, synthesize, and report operational information to enhance situational awareness and facilitate decision-making.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to maintain seamless emergency response efforts.
- Lead or facilitate EOC response operations, including activation, operational coordination, and managing assigned tasks and response actions.
- Contribute to or lead the enhancement of emergency management plans, procedures, and programs by applying sound judgment to assess complex or evolving emergency scenarios.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 federal grade level, demonstrating the duties outlined above.
- Experience must be clearly documented with exact employment dates and hours per week if part-time.
- Documentation such as signed memoranda or official assignments may be required to verify duties outside of official position descriptions.
- Both paid and unpaid experiences, including volunteer work from national service programs or other organizations, will be credited.
