About the Role
Steele Auto Group is seeking a Lead Automotive Detailer for Steele Mazda St. John’s. This position is based at 9 Kiwanis Street, St. John’s, NL A1B 0A2 and reports to Steele Mazda St. John’s. The role goes well beyond routine cleaning: you’ll restore vehicles to a high presentation standard, work on your own with accountability, and help raise the overall quality bar for the team.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out advanced detailing work, including buffing and paint correction, to bring vehicle finishes up to showroom quality.
- Examine new and incoming vehicles for defects or imperfections and report issues quickly so quality stays protected.
- Use appropriate interior and exterior products and techniques to deliver superior results.
- Polish and refine surfaces as required, focusing on accuracy and durable finish quality.
- Prepare both new vehicles and reconditioning units to a very high standard.
- Manage vehicle movement safely, including correct parking and staging in the lot and delivery areas.
- Keep the work area tidy, structured, and professional at all times.
What We're Looking For
- At least 3 years of experience in automotive detailing.
- A strong eye for detail and the ability to consistently deliver premium, showroom-level work.
- Comfort working independently with little supervision while maintaining high standards.
- Prior experience with reconditioning vehicles in a busy environment is considered an asset.
- A valid driver’s licence, a clean driving record, and the ability to drive both automatic and manual vehicles.
- Someone who is hardworking, self-driven, and effective at managing time.
