Job description
Job purpose
The Base Maintenance team supports aircraft through detailed inspections, large-scale system repairs, cabin refurbishment work, aircraft handovers, and structured inspection programs for Airbus A380, A350, and Boeing 777 fleets. The operation also delivers efficient and economical solutions for A and C checks, engine swaps, landing gear replacements, unscheduled maintenance, and pre-service inspections.
In this position, you will perform maintenance on Emirates and third-party aircraft components in line with approved procedures and regulatory requirements. You will work within a team and follow the direction of the assigned Licensed Engineer, within the trade areas for which you have been trained.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled servicing work according to the component maintenance manual, while following all required safety rules and manufacturer/company standards.
- Perform component changes and other maintenance tasks as assigned by your supervisor, using the Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Illustrated Parts Catalogue, or other approved technical references.
- Use specialised tools and test equipment correctly for inspection, testing, replacement, and servicing activities, with a clear understanding of why such equipment is required.
- Coordinate with colleagues and other teams to share technical updates and ensure everyone relevant is aware of the aircraft’s serviceability status.
- Follow company documentation requirements, including signing for tasks where needed, and help maintain tools, equipment, and systems such as Ultramain in the workplace.
- Protect yourself and others by staying alert to safety risks, keeping the work area orderly, and taking corrective action to prevent accidents.
- For Emirates Flight Training Academy operations, complete maintenance and servicing work that supports fleet safety and airworthiness.
- Assist with recovery actions for aircraft-on-ground situations across EFTA operations, including diversionary airfields.
- Support EFTA line operations as needed to keep the training programme running and ensure aircraft are cleaned and ready for departure.
Requirements
- A Vocational, National, or Higher National Diploma (12+2 or equivalent), or an apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electronic, Avionics, or Aeronautical Engineering.
- Alternatively, equivalent training gained through a reputable airline or approved maintenance organisation.
- Practical experience carrying out aircraft maintenance in an engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance safety, human factors, and general engineering practices.
- Understanding of airport authority rules related to airside driving and aircraft movement may be required depending on the discipline, including safe ramp and base movement around aircraft, road markings, and operational signage.
- A valid Airport Driving Permit must be held where required.
