Role overview

The Public Defence Service in Tauranga is seeking an experienced criminal lawyer for a PAL 1 position. This opportunity suits someone who enjoys a busy caseload, thrives in a team-oriented setting, and wants to build a career in criminal advocacy.

What the role involves

Reporting to a Legal Team Manager, you will work within the Public Defence Service at the Tauranga office and contribute to high-quality criminal defence work.

  • Provide strong defence representation for legally aided clients.
  • Handle a broad and varied criminal law caseload.
  • Support intermediate and senior lawyers as part of the wider legal team.

Salary and application details

The salary range for this position is $74,490 to $95,403, depending on skills and experience.
