About the Role
JW Marriott in Doha is hiring a Laundry Attendant for a full-time, non-management role based at the Conference Centre Street, West Bay property. This position sits within the Housekeeping & Laundry function and involves handling laundry operations to support clean, well-maintained linen and garments across the hotel.
What You’ll Do
- Run and oversee washing, dry-cleaning, and drying equipment, including chemical loading and lint-trap cleaning.
- Check items for stains or damage and decide whether they need repair, spot treatment, another wash cycle, or disposal.
- Review articles after laundering to confirm cleanliness before placing them in clean linen carts.
- Set dryer programs according to the fabric type, selecting suitable time and temperature settings.
- Clear lint, debris, dry-cleaning filters, and drain traps after each load.
- Fold cleaned items by hand or with folding equipment into the required sizes.
- Keep precise records of all items processed through laundry operations.
Work Standards and Expectations
- Observe all company safety and security procedures and immediately report accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to a manager.
- Complete required safety training and any related certifications.
- Follow company policies, maintain a neat and professional appearance, and protect confidential information and company property.
- Build positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond appropriately to coworkers’ concerns.
- Meet quality standards and contribute ideas that improve efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, or cost control.
- Inspect equipment and tools visually to spot defects or issues.
- Be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods, including an entire shift if required.
- Lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects up to 25 pounds without help.
- Work in narrow, confined, elevated, uneven, slippery, or stair-access areas, and perform frequent bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and reaching.
- Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
Preferred Profile
No prior work experience is needed for this position, and no supervisory background is required. A high school diploma or GED is not required, and no license or certification is necessary to apply.
