Job overview
An experienced Land Surveyor is needed for a supervision consultancy assignment on a major infrastructure development project about 100 km north of Jeddah. Key responsibilities
- Carry out and validate land survey tasks for infrastructure-related construction activities.
- Set up and preserve survey control points, benchmarks, and site reference markers.
- Check the contractor’s survey information, layouts, and setting-out operations to confirm they match the project drawings and specifications.
- Perform survey work for road networks and related civil infrastructure.
- Support survey activities for multi-utility works, including potable water networks, firefighting systems, gas distribution, stormwater drainage, sanitary sewage systems, power distribution networks covering MV and LV, street lighting, telecom infrastructure, irrigation, and landscape works.
- Monitor the accuracy of elevations, alignments, and coordinates during construction.
- Examine contractor survey reports, drawings, and as-built documentation.
- Keep detailed and organized records of survey measurements, site data, and related documentation.
- Work closely with Resident Engineers and discipline engineers to ensure the works are executed correctly.
Qualifications and experience
The ideal candidate should hold a diploma or degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a similar field. A background of 5 to 8 years in land surveying on infrastructure construction projects is required, along with hands-on experience in roadworks and multi-utility infrastructure. Familiarity with Total Station, GPS, and leveling instruments is essential. Experience with engineering consultancy firms in a supervision role will be an advantage.
