Role Overview
A renewable energy developer is hiring a Land Acquisition Manager to help scale its development pipeline in Germany. The position is centered on sourcing and securing greenfield land for onshore wind and solar projects, with a focus on expanding project opportunities through direct engagement with landowners, farmers, municipalities, and other local stakeholders.
The role is based in Germany, with Berlin, Leipzig, or the Saxony region mentioned as key areas. It suits someone who has worked in land acquisition, sales, real estate, infrastructure, or renewable energy development and is confident in relationship building and deal negotiation.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and secure suitable greenfield locations for renewable energy developments.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with landowners, farmers, municipalities, and nearby stakeholders.
- Take the lead in negotiating land lease and land-use agreements.
- Carry out site visits and contribute to project origination work across Germany.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams across development, permitting, and engineering.
- Act as a company representative at public meetings, stakeholder events, and information sessions.
- Keep clear and accurate records of negotiations and potential project opportunities.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should bring prior exposure to land acquisition, business development, sales, real estate, or renewable energy project development. The role calls for strong negotiation ability, excellent interpersonal skills, and comfort working with farmers, landowners, and municipal contacts. A self-driven working style is important, along with the ability to operate independently. Fluency in German is required, and candidates must be willing to travel across Germany. A valid driving licence is also necessary.
