Job Overview
The role of Laboratory Assistant at the United Arab Emirates University, Department of Family Medicine, involves supporting activities in molecular biology, protein analysis, and tissue culture laboratories. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in media preparation, conducting molecular and protein-based experimental tasks, maintaining tissue cultures, and ensuring laboratory operations comply with safety and quality guidelines.
Education and Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a closely related life sciences discipline is required.
Technical Skills and Responsibilities
- Preparation and sterilization of culture media, reagents, buffers, and related solutions following established protocols.
- Assistance in molecular biology procedures and protein analysis work.
- Support of tissue culture processes which include preparing media, aseptic handling, routine upkeep, and monitoring of cultures.
