Role Overview
Bureau Veritas is looking for a seasoned Health, Safety, and Environment professional to support labor-focused supervision on a major infrastructure assignment in Tajikistan. The role is suited to someone with deep experience on large dam, hydropower, or similar complex construction projects, especially where multiple contractors are involved.

Mandatory Background
The assignment requires strong hydropower project exposure and prior involvement in projects funded by international financial institutions. Candidates should also have a demonstrated history of guiding HSE teams in demanding project settings with several contractors working in parallel.
Familiarity with World Bank HSE guidance and Environmental and Social Standards, particularly ESS2 and ESS4, will be viewed as an added advantage.
Experience and Education
Applicants should have at least 10 years of experience and hold a minimum bachelor’s degree in Labor Relations, Social Sciences, Law, or a closely related discipline. Strong English fluency is required.
Job Responsibilities
This position focuses on labor-related supervision for large-scale construction work. The specialist will be expected to support compliance with labor management procedures and help oversee key worker welfare areas.
- Monitor labor issues across large construction projects.
- Support compliance with World Bank ESF requirements, especially ESS2, and similar IFI standards where applicable.
- Oversee labor management procedures and related implementation measures.
- Review working conditions and worker accommodation arrangements.
- Support the operation and follow-up of worker grievance mechanisms.
- Contribute to the prevention of SEA/SH risks through appropriate project controls and oversight.
Additional Requirements
Experience in hydropower projects is essential. Background on projects financed by international financial institutions is mandatory. Previous responsibility for leading HSE teams in complex, multi-contractor environments is also important.
