About the Role

HCLTech is hiring a seasoned Kubernetes and Azure DevOps professional for a senior practice role in Hyderabad. This position calls for someone with 8+ years of experience who can provide technical direction across cloud-native platform engineering, delivery automation, observability, and production support.

Core Focus Areas

  • Working with Kubernetes platforms such as AKS or GKE, along with service mesh implementations, especially Istio.
  • Building and improving CI/CD automation for build and release using one or more delivery tools.
  • Creating automated unit, integration, load, and performance testing flows.
  • Strengthening observability through logging, monitoring, alerting, and performance visibility.
  • Applying programming knowledge in at least two languages from Java, Python, Go, C++, JavaScript, TypeScript, PowerShell, or Bash/Shell.
  • Supporting Azure services including App Gateway, API Manager, AKS, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, and Azure Firewall.
  • Using monitoring and security tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Dynatrace, Security Cloud, API security, encryption, and certificates.
  • Debugging and supporting applications running in Kubernetes environments, including Istio and Envoy-based service mesh components.
  • Writing complete Helm charts and Helmfile configurations from the ground up.
  • Working with an SRE mindset using SLI, SLO, and SLA practices.
  • Managing cloud infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code and supporting cluster operations.
  • Creating templates in Harness and working with Dynatrace APM.
  • Reducing toil through automation and supporting FinOps practices across cloud platforms.
  • Handling operations across Azure and GCP environments.

Responsibilities

The role involves leading DevOps solution design, partnering with cross-functional teams, maintaining automated delivery pipelines, improving system reliability and security, solving platform issues quickly, and mentoring junior colleagues. The specialist is also expected to keep up with current practices in DevOps, Kubernetes, and Azure technologies.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience with a broad DevOps and cloud engineering skill set.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, and cloud-native delivery practices.
  • Practical experience with CI/CD pipeline development and release automation.
  • Knowledge of automated testing across unit, integration, load, and performance layers.
  • Ability to work with observability, logging, monitoring, and alerting tools and practices.
  • Programming exposure in at least two relevant languages, excluding the need to know all listed options.
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud services, Kubernetes operations, Helm, service mesh, and monitoring tools.
  • Understanding of SRE principles, Infrastructure as Code, cluster management, automation, and cloud cost awareness.
  • Good analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
