About the role

Parkschloss Leipzig is looking for a cook who enjoys straightforward, high-quality cooking and working with fresh ingredients. The role is ideal for someone who wants to do more than prepare dishes and is keen to help shape kitchen operations in a distinctive venue.

The position covers two culinary areas: the à-la-carte restaurant Il Palazzo and an event kitchen that handles buffets and functions at Parkschloss Leipzig.

Responsibilities

  • Handle food and raw ingredients carefully and responsibly.
  • Work cleanly and in an organized way in line with HACCP hygiene standards.
  • Prepare ingredients and cook dishes as part of daily mise en place and service.
  • Work independently in both à-la-carte service and buffet/event catering.
  • Plate dishes with attention to quality, timing, and presentation.
  • Assist with setting up and clearing buffets.
  • Support different event formats such as BBQs and live-cooking stations.
  • Maintain order and cleanliness throughout the kitchen area.
  • Coordinate with and support the kitchen lead.
  • Prepare fresh, seasonal dishes for the restaurant service.
  • Work confidently at your assigned station.
  • Stay closely aligned with service staff and the wider team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Prepare, set up, and oversee buffets for events.
  • Keep processes structured even when serving larger guest groups.

Requirements

  • Completed training as a chef/cook or several years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience working as a solo cook is a strong advantage.
  • Strong passion for food and a high standard of quality.
  • Structured and independent way of working.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a sense of responsibility and good oversight.
  • Ability to stay calm and perform well under pressure.
  • Reliability, initiative, and careful working habits.
  • Good German language skills are required.
