Job description

About the role

Electronic Arts is looking for a Knowledge Management Lead to build, run, and expand the knowledge capabilities that support AI-based player help and fan experiences. This position is a temporary 18-month contract based in Galway, County Galway, Ireland, and reports to the Director of Product for Self-Service Fan Care.

The role works across product, content, operations, technology, and studio teams to make sure knowledge is organized, governed, accurate, and usable by both people and AI systems. The core expectation is to treat knowledge as a foundational input for AI: it should be machine-readable, version-controlled, traceable, reusable, and safe for real-time retrieval and action.

Knowledge strategy and structure

You will shape the knowledge strategy for AI-driven player support and translate product and AI requirements into practical knowledge models, schemas, metadata, taxonomies, and system needs. A key part of the role is making sure knowledge is modular, reusable, and structured for human and machine use.

Knowledge operations and lifecycle management

You will own the full knowledge lifecycle, including intake, creation, validation, publishing, versioning, monitoring, and retirement. The role also involves improving workflows for updates, quality control, and live change management, while spotting missing information, duplicate content, conflicts, and outdated material and coordinating fixes with the relevant teams.

AI readiness, retrieval, and optimization

Working closely with Product and Engineering, you will improve how AI systems find, combine, and use knowledge. You will investigate AI output issues by tracing them back to weaknesses in structure, quality, coverage, or governance. The role also includes improving retrieval quality across relevance, precision, recall, freshness, and latency, and contributing to evaluation methods that connect knowledge quality with AI performance and player outcomes.

Governance, quality, and risk control

You will establish governance for ownership, approvals, access, certification, and escalation. This includes setting standards for versioning, traceability, auditability, freshness, and source authority, as well as putting controls in place to reduce risks from outdated, conflicting, unapproved, or misused knowledge. You will also help ensure policy, instructional, and factual knowledge remain clearly separated and enforceable for AI use.

Cross-functional enablement

A major part of the role is driving adoption of AI-ready knowledge practices across teams. You will promote structured authoring, tagging, validation, ownership, and lifecycle governance, while enabling contributors to create and maintain reusable knowledge that improves AI accuracy, trust, and the player experience.

Required qualifications

Applicants should have 4–6+ years of experience in Knowledge Management, Content Systems, Content Operations, Information Architecture, or a closely related area. You should be comfortable operating enterprise knowledge, CMS, or content systems in digital product environments and have a strong grasp of metadata, taxonomy, ontology, structured content, and information architecture. Experience with knowledge lifecycle management, governance workflows, and content quality standards is also needed, along with an understanding of search, retrieval, RAG, or AI knowledge consumption patterns. Strong analytical and systems-thinking ability is important, especially for understanding how information moves through digital systems. The role also requires experience working across Product, Engineering, Content, Operations, and other business stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications

It would be an advantage to have experience supporting AI, conversational, agentic, or automation-based systems. Familiarity with RAG, GraphRAG, vector search, knowledge graphs, semantic layers, or API-based knowledge access is also helpful. Additional plus points include experience with traceability, auditability, versioning, and governance in AI or regulated environments, scaling knowledge practices across multiple teams, regions, products, or content sources, and working with multimodal knowledge such as structured data, text, media, and community-generated signals.
