Job Overview

The Maritime Hotel located in Bantry, County Cork is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant to support the kitchen team. This behind-the-scenes role plays a key part in maintaining an efficient and sanitary kitchen environment crucial for smooth culinary operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all kitchen and food preparation areas.
  • Wash pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment ensuring high standards of hygiene.
  • Handle disposal of kitchen waste and recycling correctly and responsibly.
  • Assist chefs with general kitchen duties as assigned.
  • Keep track of cleaning supplies and notify when stock requires replenishment.
  • Strictly follow health and safety, as well as food hygiene protocols at all times.

Candidate Profile

  • Prior experience in a similar kitchen or hospitality role is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Must be reliable, flexible, and truly committed to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • A cooperative team member with a strong work ethic and a positive outlook.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
