About the Role

Join the catering team at University Hospital Galway as a Kitchen Porter, where you will play a vital role in supporting patient meal services and delivering exceptional care through your interactions. This rewarding position involves contributing to the overall patient experience by assisting in meal preparation and service.

Core Responsibilities

• Maintain availability of kitchen tools, utensils, pots, and trays to ensure smooth kitchen operations
• Uphold the highest standards of food safety and hygiene as supervised by the Head Chef
• Complete assigned food safety and quality record-keeping daily and without exception
• Keep the premises, kitchen areas, and personal hygiene standards consistently high
• Support logistics by assisting with deliveries from the main kitchen to ward kitchens
• Perform any reasonable duties that aid service delivery, food preparation, and hygiene to enhance kitchen efficiency

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in a similar fast-paced catering role is essential
• A solid background in hospitality or catering is highly desirable
• Strong time management skills
• Preferred knowledge of Food Hygiene practices including HACCP standards
• Solution-focused mindset with a flexible and proactive attitude
• Garda Vetting clearance is mandatory
• Possession of a full Category B driving license
